Nodes
A Node is a core component of your Noeko Constellation, which represents a single piece of information. It’s the digital representation of an idea. Every Idea you create in Noeko automatically becomes a Node in your dynamic knowledge graph.
What is a Node?
Section titled “What is a Node?”A Node is a distinct entity within the Knowledge Graph that serves as a container for a single piece of knowledge. This could be:
- An Idea
- A tag
- Sources
Nodes are interconnected by edges, which define the relationships between them.
Purpose and Functionality
Section titled “Purpose and Functionality”Nodes are essential to building your knowledge graph for several key reasons:
- Representation: They provide a concrete form for the Ideas and information you capture.
- Connection Hubs: Nodes act as the connection points for edges, visually mapping out the relationships between different pieces of knowledge.
- Knowledge Structuring: By creating and linking Nodes, you build a naturally organized, networked structure for your knowledge.
- Discoverability: Each Node is a unique, searchable entry point into your knowledge base, making information easy to find and access.
A Practical Example
Section titled “A Practical Example”Let’s walk through how your actions in Noeko create Nodes and edges. Imagine you’re planning a project.
- You start by creating an Idea titled
Project Marketing Plan. This action immediately creates aProject Marketing PlanNode in your knowledge graph. - Inside this Idea, you write about needing a “social media strategy.” You decide to turn this phrase into a link to a new, dedicated Idea.
- The moment you create that link, you’ve also created a new
Social Media StrategyNode and an edge connecting it back to yourProject Marketing PlanNode.
You have just built your first connection in the knowledge graph!

Nodes, Ideas, and the Knowledge Graph
Section titled “Nodes, Ideas, and the Knowledge Graph”It’s helpful to understand the direct relationship between these concepts:
- Ideas are the content you create—the text, images, and information.
- Nodes are how that content is represented and structured within the Knowledge Graph.
Essentially, every Idea you create is a Node. The Knowledge Graph is the complete network of all your Nodes and the edges connecting them. When you work with an Idea, you are directly interacting with its corresponding Node in the graph.
Interacting with Nodes
Section titled “Interacting with Nodes”Your primary interface with Nodes is through their associated Idea pages. However, the Knowledge Graph visualization offers powerful ways to see the bigger picture:
- Navigation: Click on any Node in the graph to quickly open its corresponding Idea.
- Relationship Visualization: Instantly see the connections (edges) stemming from a Node, revealing its relationships to other information.
- Contextual Understanding: Observe a Node’s neighbors within the graph to grasp its context and role in your broader knowledge network.
